The University of Bolton is home to the £13 million National Centre for Motorsport Engineering, where students can work side by side with professionals on an exciting variety of projects. The facilities include purpose-built CAD software, wind tunnels, and robotic workshops, and the building itself is home to a collection of vehicles including a £400,000 Bugatti. You’ll learn using industry-standard equipment, on courses that are designed to have graduates ready to enter the fast-paced, dynamic world of motorsports.

Bachelors Degrees

Automotive Performance Engineering (Motorsport) BEng (Hons)

Be in pole position with this incredible specialised qualification that will kit you out with the theory, practice, and principals of great motorsport engineering. Taught in the National Centre for Motorsport Engineering, you’ll learn how to design, problem-solve, manufacture and market pioneering new cars. Lecturers well-versed in the industry will give you inside knowledge on how to succeed, while also offering opportunities for you to gain experience with motorsports professionals. Previous cohorts have worked on projects such as trying to break the land-speed record with Bolton brand Keating. You’ll also graduate with Chartered Engineer status, as accredited by IMechE.

Motorsport Technology BSc (Hons)

 

Turn your passionate for motorsports into a career with this new, industry-targeted degree. With  a built-in Incorporated Engineer qualification, you’ll find your time at NCME prepares you for work by taking you all the way from the first design sketches to crossing the finishing line. Racing teams partnered with the University of Bolton will give you practical experience, while in purpose-built labs you’ll put the theory you learned in the lecture halls into practise. Your modules cover everything from CAD/CAM computer work to the business side of motorsport, giving you the chance to understand the full process of getting a car to the starting grid.

Motorsport Engineering MSc 

This Masters is designed to propel you forward into a career in motorsports.
