MA Education Management and Leadership (Online)

The objective of the MA in Education Management & Leadership is to develop learners’ understanding of policy, management theory and practice in education. It provides learners with an opportunity to engage with the challenges facing professionals and policy makers in their own country. It will provide knowledge that underpins the ability to work as an effective manager in the education sector. It combines both theoretical and practical knowledge in the education profession and will develop and enhance knowledge and skills in the areas of leading change, effective performance and team leadership. Learners will be able to work in a variety of roles within education administration and/or management.

Graduation and Certificates


Students will achieve a Level 7 Diploma in Education Management and Leadership from OTHM and a full MA Education Management and Leadership totalling 180 credits. There is the option to take an additional quarter an achieve a duel masters degree from the University of Chichester.

Course Fees


The course fees are £7,950. There are four installment plans are available; Payment Plan One Pay in full and receive 10% discount Payment Plan Two Pay in two installments and receive 7% discount Payment Plan Three Pay in three installments and receive 5% discount Payment Plan Four Pay over 12 monthly installments (24 monthly installments available for part-time students). The optional University of Chichester top-up is an additional £2750

Eligibility


  • Applicants must be a minimum of 21 years old at the start of the course
  • Applicants should have a bachelor's degree or level 6 qualification
  • Learners may also have relevant work experience
  • Have an English level equivalent to CEFR B2, Pearson Academic 51 or IELTS 5.5. If you are unsure of your current level, please contact us for further options.




Assessment


Each quarter contains between 4-6 tasks which could consist of; presentations, essays, case studies, reports. The word count per quarter is between 4500-6500. Students will download and submit their assessment through our online learning platform




Tuition and Course Materials


All our programs follow a Hybrid Learning model. This means for every quarter, you'll take part in 8 one-to-one, or small group sessions with an expert tutor from the UK. Each session lasts 45 minutes during which you will delve into the course materials and take part in interesting discussions relating to your course topics. You’ll be able to ask questions, get access to additional resources and gain a deeper understanding of the topics. After the class has finished, you’ll be able to access all the materials including a recording of the session.​ The hours are highly flexible and are scheduled around your availability. Alongside this, you'll also be given access to a range of textbooks, presentations, case studies, guides and other resources through our learning management system. Modules


Contemporary Issues in Education: Theory, Policy and Practice The aim of this unit is to provide learners with a thorough understanding of the link between current educational research and practice by developing understanding of educational theory, policy and practice. The Management of Educational Change The aim of this unit is to develop learners’ understanding of ways in which educational leadership and management can provide support during the process of change, developing leadership in the learners’ own educational context. Managing Effective Intercultural Communication and Perspectives The aim of this unit is to develop learners’ understanding of the importance of managing intercultural communication and perspectives that help to determine educational policy applicable to national and international contexts. Pedagogy and Practice in Education The aim of this unit is to develop learners’ theoretical and practical grounding in approaches to teaching and learning, related to subject pedagogic knowledge and pedagogic practices. Leading Reflective Practice in Education The aim is this unit is to develop learners’ understanding of reflective practice in order to apply this to their and other’s roles in an educational context, leading planning for personal development. Research Methods in Education The aim of this unit is to develop learners’ research skills to include understanding different research approaches, formulation of research proposals, planning research activity, analysing and interpreting data, and the relationship between research and evidence based practice.
